my podcast

Having completed a podcast in a previous class we have today learned how to edit and perfect this podcast.
  • Using audacity we edited the silence at the beginning and end of the recording.
  • Using effects we were able to change speed and tempo of our voice.
  • Also using effects we could fade in our voice and the beninning and fade out at the end.

welcome: How can you as a teacher use ICT to enhance your teaching.

http://jennifer.mypodcast.com/2007/11/ICT_in_education-54477.html

How can you as a teacher use ICT to enhance your teaching.

In this age of technology students are use to many stimuli keeping them entertained and holding their attention through the day. The classroom can then become a very boring place.
As a teacher what i can do is try to bring a variety of stimulus into the classroom and use varied teaching methodologies. ICT can be use to enhance my teaching, by using powerpoint to make handouts or to use as a visual aid. You can use video clips and podcasts to break up theory work and keep the students interested. The use of ICT may also aid in the different learning styles of the students. When students have access to computers in the classroom through the help of the interent and other sources they can research their own answers and be in control of their own learning with the teacher as a facilitator.

How would you create an effective powerpoint presentation?

How would you create an effective PowerPoint presentation?
  • PowerPoint enables lectures to be more interactive- questions can be set, the answer delayed from appearing on screen through the preset animation feature.
  • Do not dumb down the information - maintain complexity of subject.
  • Provide evidence to back up your theories.
  • Supplement slides with text and data.
  • Consider your target audience
  • Eliminate distraction - do not dazzle the audience.
  • Select powerful imagery - not clip art.
  • Use keywords, not sentences.
  • Deliver your presentation, PowerPoint will not do all the work for you.
